Zero Waste means to reduce your impact on the planet, appreciate what you already have, find ways to repurpose what you have, think hard before a new purchase. Zero waste is about reducing and finally eliminating the amount of resources that we send to trush, because what we now waste can be safely and economically recycled or reused.
We all have items that we don't want or need or use anymore but someone else could use these items. So, first things first, declutter, donate, sell or swap unwanted items. Share, borrow or rent.. Shop less and when you shop, choose quality over quantity. Think about secondhand purchases.
Reuse items like travel water bottle, coffee cup, cutlery, food containers, reusabe drinking straws, shopping bags, food bags, produce bags, cloth napkins, handkerchiefs, towels or rags for cleaning up, a safety razor. Recycle metal, paper, plastic. Use your municipal compost, if available, compost in your backyard or use alternatives like worm bins.
